Chivas de Guadalajara remains undefeated at home after beating Club Leon 2-1 on date 4 of the Clausura 2023 Tournament of the Liga MX.
The Rojiblanco team knew how to take advantage of their local status to add their second victory in the championship, after the one they achieved against Monterrey on the first day.
For their part, the Panzas Verdes suffered their third loss of the contest and could not add their first points as visitors.
The first half was very even, with both teams proposing offensive actions and seeking to open the scoring.
However, it was not until the second half that the goals would come. At minute 53, Chivas took advantage of a mistake by Leon’s defense and Alexis Vega scored the 1-0.
Leon reacted quickly and just three minutes later, Lucas Di Yorio managed to equalize the actions 1-1.
However, Chivas insisted on the attack and at minute 80, Daniel Rios scored the goal that gave them the victory.
With this result, Chivas reached seven points and climbed to fourth place in the general standings.
Leon, for its part, remained with three units and fell to fifteenth place.
In the next round, Chivas will visit Xolos de Tijuana, while Leon will host Pumas de la UNAM.
