WEB Park Fire Forces Evacuations as 45,000 Acres Burn

45,000 Acres Burn in 14 Hours

A wildfire that started Wednesday afternoon in a park near Chico has grown to over 45,000 acres, forcing mandatory evacuations. The fire, dubbed the "WEB Park Fire," grew rapidly in well less than 12 hours, fueled by weeks of triple-digit temperatures and dry conditions.

Firefighters Battle Blaze

Firefighters are working tirelessly to contain the blaze, but the fire's rapid growth and intense heat have made it difficult to control. As of Thursday morning, the fire was only 5% contained, and firefighters were facing challenges from steep terrain and limited access to water sources.

Evacuations Ordered

Mandatory evacuations have been ordered for several communities near the fire, including the town of Paradise. Thousands of residents have been forced to flee their homes, and evacuation centers have been set up to provide shelter and support.
