A Closer Look at the Game

Led by Luka Doncic's 33 points, 11 rebounds, eight assists, and four steals, the Dallas Mavericks defeated the Minnesota Timberwolves 104-99 last night at the Target Center.

The Mavericks came out strong in the first quarter, taking an early lead that they would never relinquish. Doncic was unstoppable, scoring 14 points in the quarter and dishing out four assists. The Timberwolves fought back in the second quarter, but the Mavericks held on to their lead going into halftime, 55-47.

The third quarter was a back-and-forth affair, with both teams trading baskets. The Timberwolves cut the lead to just two points at one point, but the Mavericks were able to extend their lead back to seven points by the end of the quarter. In the fourth quarter, the Mavericks put the game away, outscoring the Timberwolves 28-20. Doncic continued to lead the way for the Mavericks, scoring 11 points in the quarter and hitting several key shots down the stretch.

With the win, the Mavericks improved to 2-1 on the season. They will be back in action on Friday night when they host the New Orleans Pelicans. The Timberwolves fell to 1-2 on the season. They will be back in action on Saturday night when they host the Chicago Bulls.
